Description

3.1 Plate heat exchangers work by transferring heat between two fluids without them mixing. They utilize a series of thin, corrugated metal plates to create alternating channels for hot and cold fluids. Heat is transferred through the plates via conduction and convection, with the hot fluid Cooling down and the cold fluid Heating up.

This process continues until thermal equilibrium is reached.

3.2 Main functions are following :

  • Plate Arrangement:

The plates are arranged in a stack, with gaskets or brazing sealing the edges to prevent fluid mixing.

  • Fluid Flow:

Hot and cold fluids flow through separate channels created by the plates, often in a counter-current direction to maximize heat transfer.

Heat is transferred through the plates via conduction and convection, with the hot fluid Cooling and the cold fluid warming.

  • Efficiency:

The large surface area provided by the plates, coupled with turbulent flow created by the corrugated design, allows for efficient heat transfer.

  • Compact Size:
